[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 7th, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo attended a seminar of the Yangji Economic Research Association led by Kim Kwang-doo, Chair Professor at Sogang University, where he gave a lecture and listened to opinions.
According to officials from the research association on the 8th, Prime Minister Han listened to a one-hour presentation titled "The Course of the Korean Economy" by Professor Lee Geun of Seoul National University the previous day and also participated in the related topic discussion. Prime Minister Han is a member of the research association, and this was his first attendance since taking office.
At the event, Professor Lee delivered a lecture focusing on globalization and supply chains. He previously served as the Vice Chairman of the Presidential National Economic Advisory Council under the Moon Jae-in administration.
After listening to the lecture, Prime Minister Han reportedly commented, "It was an opportunity to hear various voices from outside after only listening to opinions within the government."

In a subsequent phone interview with Asia Economy, Prime Minister Han said, "There was a point in the lecture that globalization has been halted due to COVID-19 and other factors," adding, "Personally, I do not agree, but it was helpful in the sense that policies need to be examined more carefully." He further stated, "It is a kind of study group," and added, "It is a place to listen to diverse opinions and, if necessary, to explain government policies."
