Party and Government to Hold National Security Meeting Tomorrow on North Korea's Missile Launch and Nuclear Test
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Myunghwan] The government and the ruling party will hold a party-government consultative meeting on national security on the 8th to review trends such as North Korea's missile launches and signs of nuclear tests.
The government and the People Power Party announced on the 7th that they plan to hold the first party-government consultative meeting on national security at the National Assembly on the morning of the 8th to review recent trends related to North Korea's successive missile launches.
North Korea has been escalating provocations by launching multiple ballistic missiles, including eight short-range ballistic missiles (SRBMs) on the 5th, as well as intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and numerous ballistic missiles around the time of the new government's inauguration.
At the party-government consultative meeting, a report will also be made regarding signs detected that North Korea is preparing for a seventh nuclear test at Punggye-ri. Earlier, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the U.S. Department of State simultaneously warned that "North Korea may conduct a seventh nuclear test soon."
