President Yoon Awards Meritorious Service Certificates to Families of Helicopter Crash Fallen at Memorial Day Ceremony
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] President Yoon Suk-yeol will personally present the national merit certificates to the bereaved families of the Coast Guard aviation unit members who died in the helicopter crash off the coast of Jeju in April at the 67th Memorial Day Ceremony on the 6th.
According to the Presidential Office on the 3rd, the five recipients of the merit certificates at the ceremony are ▲ Moon In-ju (75), a veteran of the Vietnam War ▲ Park Ok-pyeong (48), who was injured by shrapnel from a thrown flashbang grenade during training while serving in the 707 Counterterrorism Special Mission Unit ▲ Lim Jong-gil (60), from a family with a distinguished military service record including his father who fought in the Korean War ▲ Jung Ki-hoon (17), child of the late Police Inspector Jung Doo-hwan, who belonged to the Namhae Regional Coast Guard Aviation Unit and died in the helicopter crash near Marado, Jeju, on April 8 while returning from search support for a distressed vessel in Taiwanese waters ▲ Hwang Sang-cheol (57), father of the late Police Sergeant Hwang Hyun-jun.
