Commercial Area Information System Overhaul... "Enhancing Diversity and User Convenience"
Support for Decision-Making of Prospective Entrepreneurs
Expected Improvement in Competitiveness of Small Business Owners
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Lee Young, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry) and the Small Enterprise and Market Service (Chairman Jo Bong-hwan, hereinafter referred to as SEMAS) announced on the 3rd that they have revamped the 'Commercial Area Information System' to enable prospective entrepreneurs and small business owners to easily receive big data-based commercial area information.
The Commercial Area Information System is a service that analyzes commercial areas, competition, location, and profitability with over 83 million data points and provides necessary information for startups and management free of charge. Since 2006, it has achieved tangible results, surpassing 12 million cumulative uses.
With this upgrade, the system enhanced analysis functions such as expanding sales forecast industries, automatic commercial area boundaries, and summary report services, as well as improving user convenience through KakaoTalk subscriptions. First, the business consulting service, which analyzes expected sales, the number of stores in the same industry, and floating population in detail, expanded from the current 5 industries to 15 industries.
A newly introduced service automatically implements irregular commercial area boundaries by region and industry by analyzing walking distances and industry status based on nationwide road network data. A 'Customized Commercial Area Subscription Report' was also established, allowing users to regularly check information on areas of interest, industries, and potential customer status monthly via KakaoTalk or text messages without accessing the website.
