On the 2nd, through his victory speech for the 8th nationwide simultaneous local elections, Im stated, "During the election period, the residents unanimously asked me to change Gyeonggi education."
He continued, "I promise to end 13 years of uniformity, bias, and complacent education and transform Gyeonggi education into autonomous, balanced, and future-oriented education."
He emphasized, "I will carefully examine the uncomfortable truths of Gyeonggi education one by one, thoroughly and in every corner, and devote all my experience and know-how to the future of Gyeonggi education over the next four years."
In particular, he pledged, "I will become a 'communicative' superintendent who listens more to the voices of teachers, students, and parents, and reflects answers found in the field into policies."
Im also said, "I will ensure that every region and every student in Gyeonggi Province has the right to proper education, warm character development, and equal educational opportunities, and that parents can be free from worries about care, private education expenses, career paths, and violence."
He concluded by emphasizing cooperation, saying, "Let us make Gyeonggi Province a special education road."
