Gwangju Mayor-elect Kang Ki-jung: "I Will Lead Change by Honoring the Will of the Citizens"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kang Kijeong, the Democratic Party candidate, was elected as the mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City in the 8th local election.
Mayor-elect Kang said, "I received tremendous love from the citizens during both the primary and the general election. I am truly grateful," and added, "As planned, I will lead rapid changes in Gwangju by following the will of the citizens."
He continued, "The citizens are asking to create a Gwangju with more jobs, full of vitality, and where values are respected," and said, "We will grow industries to increase jobs, resolve various stalled issues to make an exciting Gwangju, and at the same time, build a healthy society where values are respected."
