Im Sung-jae ranked 2nd in the 2017 December PGA Tour Korn Ferry (2nd tier) Qualifying Tournament (QT), moved to the U.S. in 2018, and quickly earned his PGA Tour card by winning twice on the Korn Ferry Tour. In 2019, he entered the top 10 seven times in 35 events, becoming the first Asian to win Rookie of the Year. The highlight of 2020 was the Honda Classic in March. After just 50 events, he became the 7th Korean champion in history.
