View original image[Asia Economy Kim Hyun-jun, Golf Specialist Reporter] Jeong Han-mil (31), in his 6th year on the tour, is showing strength on a difficult course.
On the 27th, at Blackstone Icheon Golf Club (Par 72, 7,260 yards) in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, during the second day of the KPGA KB Financial Live Championship (total prize money 700 million KRW), he posted 1-over par to maintain his position at the top of the leaderboard for the second day in a row (4-under par 140). Park Sung-guk (34), Seo Yo-seop (26, DB Insurance), and Lee Tae-hee (36) are tied for second place, one stroke behind (3-under par 141), while ‘Match King’ Park Eun-shin (32) is challenging for ‘back-to-back wins’ from fifth place, two strokes behind (2-under par 142).
Jeong Han-mil entered the Korean Tour in 2017 but has yet to secure a victory. His best result was second place at the KEB Hana Bank Invitational in June 2019. However, this tournament started differently with a strong early surge, including a 5-under par on the first day. On this day, he recorded three birdies and four bogeys for 1-over par, and considering there were only four players with under-par scores, he is still performing well. He said, "I desperately want to win," and added, "I want to seize the opportunity when it comes," showing his determination.
