The Traditional Architecture Repair Technology Promotion Foundation announced on the 27th that Ajadang, which had been wandering in various places, was rebuilt at the Paju Traditional Architectural Component Preservation Center.
Ajadang, which was originally at Unhyeongung, was sold and relocated to Buam-dong, Jongno-gu, when the Unhyeongung area was reduced in 1969. Afterwards, Ajadang was dismantled in 2002, and its components were stored in a warehouse in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.
When the Cultural Heritage Committee recommended purchasing and restoring the components in 2007, the Cultural Heritage Administration acquired them the following year and placed them at the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage in Buyeo, Chungnam, before transferring them to Paju in 2018.
