Kim Jaemu, Gwangyang Mayor Candidate, Signs Agreement with National Plant Union for Safe Workplace Creation
Policy Agreement with Jeonnam East and Gyeongnam West Branches of the National Plant Workers' Union
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Kim Jaemu, the Democratic Party candidate for mayor of Gwangyang, Jeonnam, held a policy agreement ceremony with the Jeonnam Eastern and Gyeongnam branches of the National Plant Workers' Union on the 26th, agreeing to jointly work on creating safe workplaces for workers.
The agreement ceremony, held at the election office located in Jungmadong, Gwangyang City, involved delivering the agreement document containing the concerns of Plant Union branch chief Ahn Youngil.
At this event, the two signed a policy agreement document covering the protection of workers' rights, safe construction sites, and revitalization of the local economy.
The agreement includes ▲ cooperation in improving training centers and office facilities for plant construction workers, ▲ joint efforts to support education and training projects and improve operating expenses for job seekers and current employees, ▲ and active cooperation in mediation between labor and management, such as collective bargaining for local construction workers.
Candidate Kim said, “Industrial sites are places where safety accidents, big and small, can occur without warning, so constant vigilance is necessary,” and added, “I will strive to create a pleasant working environment for workers.”
Previously, Candidate Kim signed an agreement with the Sepung Development Council to jointly work on deregulation and other measures to revitalize the Sepung Industrial Complex.
