Even in the Sky, Shouting for 2030 Busan World Expo... Busan City and Air Busan Launch Aviation Promotion Campaign
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan City is joining hands with Air Busan, a local representative low-cost carrier (LCC), to jointly promote the bid for the World Expo.
The campaign targets domestic and international tourists visiting Busan via flights to promote the 2030 Busan World Expo bid.
Busan City secured Air Busan, which holds the highest passenger share among airlines operating at Gimhae Airport, as a promotional partner. They plan to focus on Expo bid promotion using passenger flights during the summer peak season.
Using 25 Air Busan aircraft, they will broadcast audio messages supporting the 2030 Busan World Expo bid upon landing and display promotional banners for the Expo bid during online ticketing.
Promotional advertisements will be placed in in-flight magazines and duty-free catalogs, and promotional phrases will be printed on the back of in-flight menus and paper cups.
According to Korea Airports Corporation, Air Busan transported about 2.83 million passengers out of a total of 8,859,304 passengers at Gimhae Airport last year, recording a passenger share of 32%.
Air Busan has maintained the number one passenger share for eight consecutive years from 2014 to last year.
An Air Busan official stated, “To support the 2030 Busan World Expo bid, which is being promoted as a national agenda reflecting Busan’s aspirations, we plan to participate company-wide by utilizing overseas branches and our global network.”
