The inauguration ceremony was held at Seojeong Hall on the 2nd floor of Seojeong Building, Seoyoung University, and included the awarding of membership cards, oath-taking by representatives of the members, and fire safety education on cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
In the future, various activities such as the Children's 119 Emergency Rescue Control Team, tours of the Bitgoeul National Safety Experience Center, writing thank-you letters to firefighters, and photo shoots for the youth corps pictorial book are planned.
Joo Sunmi, head of the 119 Disaster Response Division, said, "We hope that the Korea 119 Youth Corps will grow into reliable safety leaders of the future generation through various fire safety cultural activities throughout this year."
Meanwhile, the Korea 119 Youth Corps was founded in 1963 to cultivate awareness and habits regarding safety from an early age, deliver correct knowledge about fire safety, and foster adults who lead safety culture.

This year, the Bukbu Fire Station Korea 119 Youth Corps consists of four groups with 120 members (116 members and 4 supervising teachers) from Seoyoung University, Gwangju Munhwa Elementary School, Mudeung Elementary School, and Gwangju Aeyukwon, and the inauguration ceremonies will be held individually at each school.
