Gyeonggawon Holds Meeting with Merchant Association to Revitalize Yeonmu Market Traditional Market
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency visited Suwon Yeonmu Market and held a meeting with the merchants' association on revitalizing traditional markets.
On the 25th, the agency announced that it held a meeting at Yeonmu Market in Bandi-bul-i, Jangan-gu, Suwon, to explore ways to revitalize traditional markets in the region that have been struggling due to COVID-19.
Previously, in April 2020, the agency signed a mutual cooperation agreement called 'One Institution-One Market' with Yeonmu Market.
During the meeting, the agency pledged to make efforts to prepare various support measures to minimize damage caused by the economic downturn and to overcome it early, including designating one day per month as a traditional market day for each headquarters to help revitalize the local economy.
Additionally, 500 reusable shopping bags were donated to the merchants' association to reduce the use of disposable plastic bags. After the meeting, executives and employees spent time touring the market and shopping.
