Joseon Royal Family Signboards Reborn as Cultural Products Including Mobile Phone Straps and Ring Accessories
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The Cultural Heritage Administration's National Palace Museum, in collaboration with the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, has developed and produced four types of cultural products using exhibition artifacts: mobile phone straps, ring accessories, name tag necklace bundles, and badges.
The cultural products utilize signboards featuring calligraphy by King Sunjo during his time as crown prince, titled ‘Cheonbodabok (天保多福) Signboard,’ and by King Sukjong, titled ‘Gyowolyeochok (皎月如燭) Signboard.’ These two signboards' auspicious meanings are incorporated as design elements, and the various patterns engraved on the signboards have been interpreted in a modern style for the products.
The cultural products are sold at the ‘Sarang’ store on the first floor of the National Palace Museum. Starting from the 26th, they will also be available on the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation’s website. The products for sale include mobile phone straps (10,000 KRW), ‘Gyowolyeochok’ ring accessories (7,000 KRW), name tag necklaces and straps (8,000 KRW), and badges (5,000 KRW), totaling four types.
