Gyeonggi Fire Department's Fire Investigation Academic Paper Awarded First Prize to Firefighter Park Ji-hoon

The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters announced on the 25th that Firefighter Park Ji-hoon, who presented "A Study on the Fire Risk Caused by the Synergistic Effect of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and Dust" at the "2022 Gyeonggi-do Fire Investigation Academic Paper Presentation Contest" held on the 24th to improve professional skills such as sharing fire investigation cases and appraisal and forensic techniques, received the grand prize.
The excellence award went to Fire Captain Lee Joon of Seongnam Fire Station, the encouragement award to Firefighter Choi Jin-sol of Hwaseong Fire Station, and the academic awards were given to Fire Lieutenant Kim Byung-jin of Yongin Fire Station and Firefighter Park Chi-sang of Gimpo Fire Station.
A representative of the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters said, "This academic paper presentation contest was a meaningful occasion where fire investigators from various fire stations, who had not been able to meet due to COVID-19, gathered in one place to share diverse information and discuss policy directions," adding, "We will do our best not only in scientific fire investigation but also in creating various support policies for fire victims."
