Hangang Project Headquarters Signs Business Agreement with Golfzon and Seoul Green Trust... Creating Green Spaces for Citizens
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Near Hangang Bridge at Ichon Hangang Park, a space that had been suffering from the proliferation of invasive species is being transformed into a green area where healthy trees take root.
On the 25th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government Hangang Project Headquarters announced that it signed a business agreement with Golfzon Nudin Holdings, Golfzon, and Seoul Green Trust, and broke ground on the "Ichon Hangang Park Citizen Participation Hangang Forest" project on the 24th.
The "Ichon Hangang Park Citizen Participation Hangang Forest" project aims to enhance the convenience of park users and strengthen ecological environment protection. It plans to plant 3,020 trees by 2024 in a 2,000㎡ green area near Hangang Bridge.
The site has been difficult for existing trees to grow due to invasive plants such as gasi-bak, and the area had been visually unappealing. Through this project, it is expected to be transformed into a green resting space.
Although the "Citizen Participation Hangang Forest" activities were restricted due to the COVID-19 situation, inquiries from companies about participating in greening activities have increased following the lifting of social distancing measures.
Accordingly, the Hangang Project Headquarters plans to continue discovering idle spaces within Hangang Park that require green space development and promote the creation of "Citizen Participation Hangang Forests" in cooperation with various private organizations and companies.
