[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Since 2019, Seongbuk-gu has intensively planted tens of thousands of rose flowers along the Seongbukcheon waterfront for over three years, creating a spectacular full bloom.
Along the waterfront promenade, vibrant flowers such as Indong vines and Coreopsis are in full bloom, evoking the nostalgic atmosphere of hometown and exotic beautiful scenery together, establishing the area as a place of comfort and healing for local residents and visitors to Seongbukcheon.
To create this beautiful landscape of Seongbukcheon, Seongbuk-gu has focused on planting abundant four-season roses with passionate red and cozy pink colors such as Grande Classe, Shooter's Gold, and Pink Perfume, as well as charming climbing roses that bloom in clusters like Scarlet Meidiland and Sympathy over the past three years since 2019.
Additionally, about 20 distinctive seasonal flowers including Dimorphotheca, Lupinus, and Oriental poppy have been planted, and wave petunia hanging pots and pole planters have been arranged to allow visitors to enjoy a three-dimensional landscape.
Seongbukcheon originates from Bukaksan (Baegaksan) and passes through Seongbuk-dong, Samseon-dong, Anam-dong, and Bomun-dong before meeting Cheonggyecheon. It is well known as a local attraction where clear and clean water flows year-round, allowing visitors to take leisurely walks while listening to the pleasant sound of flowing water.
