Wanju-gun Completes Smart City Integrated Platform Construction Project in June
Expectations for Maximizing Resident Safety Services
[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Han-ho] Wanju County announced on the 23rd that it will complete the ‘Smart City Integrated Platform Construction Project’ next month, establishing a shared information base closely related to residents' daily lives such as crime prevention, disaster, and traffic, to maximize resident safety services.
According to the county, the ‘Smart City Integrated Platform Construction Project’ refers to a project that links various local government information systems such as crime prevention and traffic with the central agency's information network to strengthen the city's safety net and create an intelligent urban operation foundation.
Through the Smart City Integrated Platform Construction Project, Wanju County will be able to strengthen the ‘Smart City Safety Net Service’ by linking with the police station, fire station, disaster center, and others.
In particular, by providing on-site information for emergency situations, it will enable accurate and prompt response and on-site command, and is expected to stand out as a safe and reassuring happy leading city.
At the Wanju CCTV Integrated Control Center, the ‘Geographic Information System (GIS) Surveillance System’ identifies the expected escape routes of criminal vehicles and quickly provides this information to the police. In the event of various incidents and accidents, it cooperates with related organizations to provide on-site video in real time to the 112 Police Comprehensive Situation Room and on-site dispatch vehicles, securing the golden time.
Wanju County also expects that through meticulous and thorough monitoring, the safety of socially vulnerable people in daily life will be more strictly protected, and in the event of emergencies such as fires and disasters, on-site information will be delivered in real time to accelerate on-site response and handling speed.
Prior to this, Wanju County opened the control center in 2014 and has been operating the ‘CCTV Integrated Control Center’ that integrates 247 CCTVs in the region.
As of 2022, the Integrated Control Center responded to about 440 cases in the region last year through approximately 2,300 CCTVs, recorded about 250 police dispatches for crime prevention, and achieved an arrest rate of 83%, contributing to crime prevention in vulnerable areas.
Wanju County also completed the ‘U city Integrated Platform’ in 2017 and upgraded the Smart City Integrated Platform Construction Project last year to provide more thorough monitoring and safe and smart city services.
