Currently serving as the president of the Busan Buddhist Association and chairman of Geumjeong Middle School and Haedong Middle School, he established the Dongsan Scholarship Foundation in honor of Dongsan Daejongsa and has been providing 150 million won annually in scholarships since 2017.

Beomeosa Temple is one of the ten Hwaeom temples (Hwaeom Sipchal) founded by Uisang Daesa in the 18th year of King Munmu of Silla (678). Besides Uisang Daesa, it has produced many eminent monks including Wonhyo Daesa, Pyohun, Nakan, Yeongwon, Maehak, and Myojeon Seonsa, making it a representative famous temple of Korea.
Beomeosa has functioned not only as a religious center in the local community but also as a National Support Temple (Gukga Bibo Sachal).
During the Imjin War, Seosan Daesa famously used Beomeosa as his command post for monk soldier activities. During the March 1st Movement, students studying here initiated the “Beomeosa Hakrim Uprising,” an independence movement, and the Taegeukgi flags used nationwide were made at a Beomeosa hermitage.
