‘The Illustrator Loved by New York’ Special Exhibition of Olympia Zagnoli
Life is Color... First Exhibition in Korea
From the 27th to October 1st at Sejong Art Center, Sejong Cultural Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] A special exhibition of Italian illustrator Olympia Zagnoli, "Life is Color," will be held from the 27th to October 1st at the Sejong Museum of Art in Seoul's Sejong Center for the Performing Arts.
This exhibition showcases over 150 works including the artist's illustrations, design objects, kinetic sculptures, and video clips. Visitors can experience drawing works expanded into 3D space using neon, ceramics, wood, and plexiglass sculptures.
Olympia Zagnoli's works are divided into 11 sections, ranging from pieces reflecting the radical Italian era of the 1970s and 80s, portraits of imaginary characters, to works inspired by her surroundings. Oil paintings specially created for this exhibition will also be unveiled.
Olympia Zagnoli's works are characterized by rich colors and humor. Since around 2008, she gained prominence through collaborations with The New York Times, The New Yorker, and the New York subway, and later established herself as a leading illustrator by working with global brands such as Prada, Dior, and Fendi.
Holding her first exhibition in Korea after 15 years as an illustrator, Olympia Zagnoli will visit Korea on the opening day to meet Korean audiences through artist talks and fan signings.
