Tournament Final Featuring 32 Professional Go Players Under 17
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The 10th Ha Chan-seok Guksu Cup Young Talent Baduk Tournament, hosted by Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province and organized by the Korea Baduk Association, kicked off on the 16th at the Korea Baduk Association tournament hall in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
Now in its 10th year, this tournament has established itself as a gateway for emerging Baduk players. The tournament's popularity continues to grow thanks to the achievements of former participants such as 9-dan Shin Jin-seo and 9-dan Shin Min-jun.
This year, 32 professional players aged 17 and under (born in 2004 or later) are competing, with the winner decided through a knockout tournament and a best-of-three final series.
In the round of 32 held that day, 4-dan Lee Yeon, the runner-up of the 9th tournament, and female players 1-dan Kim Hyo-young and Jang Eun-bin advanced to the round of 16.
The first match of the round of 16 will be held on the 25th at 10 a.m., featuring 2-dan Park Dong-joo versus 1-dan Kim Hyo-young. The round of 16 matches will take place every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 10 a.m. in the Korea Baduk Association Baduk TV studio. All matches will be broadcast live on Baduk TV.
The final series is scheduled for mid-July, with the first game held at the Baduk TV studio and the second and third games at the Hapcheon-gun Cheongwadae set.

The champion and runner-up will receive prize money and participate in the all-time Young Talent (Park Jong-hoon, Seol Hyun-jun, Park Hyun-soo, Moon Min-jong, Hyun Yoo-bin) King of Kings tournament held to celebrate the 10th anniversary. A commemorative match will also be held against top-ranked domestic players such as 9-dan Shin Jin-seo and 9-dan Shin Min-jun.
