Earlier this year, CJ OliveNetworks expanded its logistics business division into the AI Logistics Team as a new organization to focus on the logistics business. The AI Logistics Team provides total solution services for building smart logistics centers, including logistics center consulting, engineering, logistics system and automation equipment construction, operation, and maintenance. To secure automation equipment, it formed a partnership with Vanderlande.
Vanderlande, established in 1949 in the Netherlands, has built logistics equipment for 12 of the world's top 20 airports and global e-commerce companies including Amazon, and is ranked among the top 5 global logistics automation companies. Unlike other global logistics equipment companies, Vanderlande does not have a branch office in Korea, so through this collaboration, CJ OliveNetworks will serve as a foothold for the global company’s entry into the domestic market.
CJ OliveNetworks is enhancing its business competitiveness through smart logistics automation consulting and construction using the AI-based logistics solution 'EliSSone.' Through the partnership, it plans to advance smart logistics solutions such as order optimization, deep learning-based image analysis, and autonomous driving of transport robots.
CJ OliveNetworks has signed partnerships with domestic and international equipment manufacturers across various equipment fields such as storage, transfer, picking, and sorting, and is also building the PICO Innovation (Korea Pharmaceutical Cooperative) Pyeongtaek unmanned smart logistics center. It plans to focus its business capabilities not only on storage-type logistics centers centered on the food and beverage and pharmaceutical industries but also on fulfillment centers of various sizes, including large and small.
Yoo Chang-il, head of the AI Logistics Team at CJ OliveNetworks, said, “As a strategy to strengthen the logistics automation equipment business, we continue to maintain partnerships with domestic and international companies that possess core logistics automation equipment. We provide domestic business opportunities to partners and offer customers more complete total services, creating a win-win situation.”
