Gyeongbuk Province Starts Efforts to Regain Valuable Healthy Lifestyles After COVID-19
Seminar on the Promotion Direction of Integrated Health Policy and Healthy Village Development Project
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] On the 16th, Gyeongbuk Province held a ‘Integrated Health Promotion Project and Healthy Village Creation Project Seminar’ at Hotel Inter-Burgo Daegu, attended by over 100 city and county public health center officials and professors from the Integrated Health Promotion Project Support Group.
This seminar was convened to reconsider ways to protect the daily health habits of residents as the integrated health promotion project, which had stalled due to COVID-19, restarts, and to discuss the direction of the healthy village creation project suitable for the post-COVID-19 era.
First, in Part 1, the Gyeongbuk Integrated Health Promotion Project Group provided an overall explanation of the project and discussed the direction of its implementation.
Following that, in Part 2, guidance was given on the previously unavailable healthy village creation project manual, and an introduction to the collection of excellent healthy village case studies was provided to enhance understanding of the healthy village creation project.
The healthy village manual consists of content for efficient work processing, including ▲the relationship between health and the village ▲the necessity of resident participation ▲the concept of the healthy village creation project ▲changes in the village through the healthy village creation project.
Also introduced was the ‘Warm People’s Healthy Village Story Best Practices,’ which contains vivid on-site stories from healthy villages.
Through past trials and errors and success stories, it realistically depicts the beautiful transformation of healthy villages from their inception, through failures, to the current stage of success.
The healthy village creation project has been a resident-led specialized project that Gyeongbuk Province has been focusing on since 2014, currently involving 31 eup, myeon, and dong in 22 cities and counties.
Even during the COVID-19 situation, village residents have proactively complied with quarantine rules and are promoting various projects such as operating non-face-to-face programs to manage the health of healthy village residents.
