Motorola Meets Budget Phones... Two Exclusive Models Released on Hello Mobile
Dual SIM Equipped Mid-Range 5G Phones Released
Pre-Orders Available from the 16th via Official Online Store
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] ‘Motorola,’ returning after 9 years, has joined hands with LG HelloVision’s budget phone (MVNO) service Hello Mobile.
LG HelloVision Hello Mobile announced on the 16th that it will exclusively launch two mid-range 5G smartphones from Motorola in Korea and start pre-order sales through its direct online store for four days until the 19th.
The official release date is scheduled for the end of this month, and the phones will also be available through open markets such as eBay, 11st, and TMON. Activation will proceed sequentially after the official launch. Free after-sales service (A/S) will be provided for two years at 46 Lenovo after-sales service centers nationwide.
The released devices are two models: the ‘Edge 20 Lite 5G (399,000 KRW)’ and the ‘Moto G50 5G (349,000 KRW).’ These are premium mid-range phones equipped with dual SIMs and have been very popular in North America, Europe, and China.
The Edge 20 Lite 5G boasts premium-level performance, featuring ▲ dual SIM ▲ 108-megapixel camera ▲ large memory (8GB RAM and 128GB storage) ▲ large battery (5000mAh) ▲ support for fast charging (30W) ▲ 6.7-inch OLED display. The Moto G50 5G includes ▲ dual SIM ▲ 48-megapixel camera ▲ practical memory (4GB RAM and 128GB storage) ▲ large battery (5000mAh) ▲ 6.5-inch OLED display.
Customers can combine Motorola’s premium mid-range 5G phones with budget phone LTE plans. Starting from LTE plans in the low to mid-20,000 KRW range per month (based on the launch promotion discounted price), maximum subsidies are applied, reducing the device price to zero. The launch promotion also offers benefits such as ‘an additional 5,000 KRW monthly discount (when choosing device subsidy)’ or ‘an additional 10% discount on the selected contract (when choosing plan subsidy)’ for popular plans. LG HelloVision will also gift premium wireless headphones to the first 500 customers.
Jae-sik Shin, General Manager of Motorola Korea, expressed, “Through the partnership with Hello Mobile, we aim to broaden the choices of 5G smartphones for domestic consumers and contribute to a more reasonable mobile life,” showing high expectations for the Korean market entry.
