The project, running from May to November 31, provides up to 465 million KRW in funding to institutions capable of operating project-based education related to AI-linked content.
The institution plans to cultivate specialized personnel who can precisely implement AI components within a metaverse environment while producing content in the AI era.
The ‘AI-Linked Content Creative Talent Training Project’ is conducted by an industry-academia-research consortium composed of Dongmyung University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, Seoul National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, New Plus Original, and the AI Friends Association, and is carried out through basic theoretical lectures and PBL (Project-Based Learning).
The education combines face-to-face classes, practical training, and online blended learning, with the final four weeks conducted as in-person training at New Plus Original.
Education for the southeastern region is held at Dongmyung University, for the central region at Daedeok Special Zone Space-S, and for the metropolitan area at Seoul National University.
Producers from New Plus Original closely mentor trainees to build metaverse spaces and co-produce videos to be broadcast on OTT platforms.
Active professionals from Nexon Korea also participate, delivering lectures on the theme of ‘gamification’.
Trainees will be recruited in May. Eligible applicants are graduates and those expected to graduate in August.
Among the selected 25 candidates, basic theoretical education will be conducted throughout June, and 20 final candidates for PBL classes will be selected and trained until November.
Selected trainees will receive a monthly support payment of 1.5 million KRW, including taxes, for five months from July to November.
Professor Won Jong-yoon of Dongmyung University’s Department of Visual Design said, “Last year, we introduced the metaverse for the first time in practical classes in the Visual Design Department and aimed to enhance students’ metaverse production capabilities. It is gratifying that this experience has connected us with a diverse consortium of industry, academia, and research institutions.”
