Daejeon City Recruits 88 University Students for 'Summer Vacation Part-Time Jobs'
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is recruiting 88 university student part-timers to work at Daejeon City Hall and affiliated organizations during the summer vacation.
According to the city on the 16th, the selected university students will work from July 4 to 28 (4 weeks), five days a week (19 actual working days), from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (6 hours per day, excluding 1 hour lunch break) at Daejeon City Hall, business offices, public corporations, and about 20 other institutions. The total salary for completing all working days is approximately 1.3 million KRW.
Applications are open to any university student currently registered as a resident in Daejeon or enrolled at a university located in Daejeon. Interested applicants can apply through the Daejeon City Hall website from the 18th to the 20th of this month.
The number of selected candidates includes 34 university students from low-income households registered in Daejeon (including near-poverty level), 44 university students either registered in Daejeon or attending universities in Daejeon, 1 university student with a disability registration card registered in Daejeon, and 9 university students enrolled in universities in Daejeon who have moved to Daejeon after admission.
The city will first select three times the number of applicants (264 people) in the first round, then review household members, academic year, age, eligibility, etc., and announce the final successful candidates on the 20th of next month.

Park Mun-yong, Director of the Youth and Family Bureau of the city, said, “We hope this project will provide practical help to local university students experiencing psychological and economic difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” and added, “We encourage many university students interested in Daejeon city administration and public service to apply.”
