President Yoon Sends Special Envoy Including Jang Je-won to UAE Following President's Passing
[Asia Economy Reporter Bae Kyunghwan] President Yoon Suk-yeol decided on the 15th to dispatch a condolence delegation led by Special Envoy Jang Je-won, who served as the Chief of Staff to the President-elect, in response to the passing of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The delegation, composed of Chief Jang, the Ambassador to the UAE, and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is scheduled to meet with the new UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the bereaved family on the 16th to convey condolences and sympathies from President Yoon and the Korean people.

Separately from the dispatch of the delegation, the Presidential Office explained that President Yoon sent a condolence message to the bereaved family and the people of the UAE on the 14th to express his sympathy. President Yoon also highly appreciated that during President Khalifa’s tenure, the Korea-UAE relationship was elevated to a special strategic partnership and cooperation between the two countries expanded across various fields.
