According to the AP News and Dallas local broadcaster Fox4 on the 12th (local time), around 2 p.m. that day, three Korean women, including the owner, employees, and customers, sustained gunshot wounds to their arms and legs at the Koreatown beauty salon.
According to the police, the suspect was a Black man dressed in black, who fled in a minivan after the shooting.
One of the victims' family members told AP News, "The perpetrator calmly walked into the beauty salon, fired about 20 shots, and then walked out calmly."
Prior to the shooting, it is reported that there was an argument due to a misunderstanding when an employee did not know how to style a Black woman's hair at the salon.

Earlier, on the 2nd of last month, someone in a passenger car fired shots toward the Koreatown shopping area and fled. Police stated that it has not been confirmed whether this argument and the previous shooting are related to this incident.
Regarding the possibility of a hate crime, the motive for the crime is still unknown.
