Crackdown Conducted on Businesses Emitting Air and Wastewater Pollutants
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gyeongsan City, Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 12th that it will conduct the "2022 First Half Joint Inspection of Emission Facilities" from the 16th to the 27th to eradicate environmental pollution acts and prevent environmental pollution accidents.
This crackdown is a joint inspection between local governments targeting the entire Gyeongbuk Province, with two cities/counties forming one team to inspect facilities emitting air pollutants and wastewater.
The main inspection items include ▲appropriateness of emission facility installation permits (reports) ▲normal operation of prevention facilities and leakage of pollutants ▲recording of operation logs of prevention facilities and compliance with self-measurement ▲appropriateness of environmental technician qualifications and normal work status, among others, covering overall environmental facilities.
The city plans to provide administrative guidance on minor issues on-site based on the joint inspection results, and strictly take action according to relevant laws for intentional or serious violations such as unauthorized wastewater discharge and improper operation of emission and prevention facilities.

Additionally, for workplaces that may cause adverse effects on the surrounding environment, the city will encourage facility improvement and supplementation, and for workplaces with insufficient management and operation, technical support will be provided through linkage with the Gyeongbuk Green Environment Support Center and the Environmental Technicians Association to enable expert assistance.
