Gyeonggawon Donates 401 Work PCs to Underprivileged Groups
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency donated 401 computer items, including desktops, monitors, and laptops, to bridge the digital divide for socially vulnerable groups.
The agency announced on the 11th that it decided to donate computer equipment by refurbishing PCs previously used for work and distributing them to socially vulnerable groups, aiming to practice resource circulation and community sharing.
The donated equipment will be delivered to basic livelihood security recipients, people with disabilities, and low-income groups in the province through the nonprofit organization Hanasarang Association.
Hanasarang Association is a corporation authorized by the Ministry of Unification, providing support for socially vulnerable groups, resettlement assistance for North Korean defectors, and medical welfare services.

Yoo Seung-kyung, director of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, said, "We hope this donation will serve as an opportunity to enhance digital accessibility for marginalized groups experiencing the digital divide due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic," adding, "The agency will continue various social contribution activities to help socially vulnerable groups facing difficulties."
