[Report] "Nurturing Fashion Dreamers to Expand the Ecosystem"... A Visit to 'Musinsa Studio Seongsu'
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Musinsa, a fashion platform, has opened a fashion-specialized shared office called ‘Musinsa Studio Seongsu’ in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. This space was created to expand networking opportunities among fashion industry workers and further activate the fashion ecosystem.
Visiting Musinsa Studio Seongsu on the afternoon of the 10th, it was noted that there is an exclusive passage directly connected to the subway station, providing excellent accessibility. The facility occupies seven floors of the building (3rd to 9th floors), covering approximately 900 pyeong (about 2,976 square meters) with around 400 seats, and features a larger area per person compared to existing shared offices.
Upon entering, the first space encountered is the ‘Musinsa Terrace.’ The Musinsa Terrace is designed to be used as an offline showroom or pop-up store for tenant brands. Spanning two floors with high ceilings creating an open atmosphere, the casual brand ‘Yale’ held a pop-up store here, selling various products such as clothing and bags featuring its mascot ‘University Dan.’ In one corner of the space, there was a caf? selling beverages inspired by the Yale brand and a ‘Photoism’ photo booth, offering various entertainment options.
A Musinsa representative explained, "The Musinsa Terrace is the most distinctive space in the Seongsu location," adding, "Since Seongsu-dong has a large floating population and is popular among younger generations, we thought it was necessary to create a space where customers can enjoy themselves."
True to the name of a shared office, the office spaces arranged from the 4th to the 8th floors were also well-equipped. The office spaces include section offices that can be rented according to company size, as well as lounges and meeting rooms on each floor. Although the Seongsu location has been open for just over a month, its occupancy rate is around 80%, with fashion platform companies, small designer brands, and individual creators residing there.
Especially impressive are the spaces specialized for fashion industry workers, such as a photography studio utilizing natural light and workrooms designed for design tasks and packaging. The photography studio offers rentals for everything from lighting to cameras, and the workrooms are equipped with tools like irons for work purposes.
