'Human Rights Management Proclamation Ceremony' Held at the Corporation Headquarters Auditorium
Commitment to Practicing Human Rights Management Including Prohibition of Employment Discrimination, Guarantee of Labor Rights, and Creation of a Safe Working Environment
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul Water Reclamation Facilities Corporation announced on the 11th that it held the ‘Seoul Water Reclamation Facilities Corporation Human Rights Management Proclamation Ceremony’ on the 10th at the main auditorium of the Seoul Water Reclamation Facilities Corporation headquarters.
The proclamation ceremony was attended by about 50 executives and employees of the Seoul Water Reclamation Facilities Corporation and proceeded in the order of sharing the human rights management promotion plan and progress status, the chairman’s commemorative speech, and the reading of the human rights management declaration.
The human rights management declaration includes nine areas: ▲ respect for domestic and international human rights standards and norms ▲ efforts to prevent and remedy human rights violations in advance ▲ prohibition of discrimination based on race, religion, disability, etc. ▲ guarantee of freedom of association and collective bargaining ▲ prohibition of forced labor ▲ promotion of industrial safety and health ▲ support for human rights management practices of partner companies and fair treatment ▲ mutual development with local residents ▲ environmental protection. It contains a code of conduct that executives and employees must follow to practice human rights management.
Prior to the proclamation ceremony, Seoul Water Reclamation Facilities Corporation completed the preparation of internal regulations and the formation of a human rights management committee to systematically implement human rights management, and plans to actively spread the culture of human rights management based on this. Through the establishment of a human rights violation remedy procedure manual to be promoted in the first half of the year, appropriate countermeasures in case of human rights violations and the internal incident handling process of the corporation will be clearly shared. Through the human rights impact assessment to be promoted in the second half of the year, the corporation will identify and evaluate actual and potential human rights risks that its management activities may have on human rights in advance, establish prevention measures, and execute projects.
