Park Jinkyu, the 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, stated this in his farewell speech on the 10th. Park, who entered public service after passing the 34th Administrative Examination in 1990, concluded his 31 years of public service with the farewell ceremony held that day.
Vice Minister Park said, "The excitement of a 25-year-old new employee who entered the Gwacheon Central Officials Training Institute with a fearful and trembling heart is still vivid," and added, "I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who helped me reach this position." He continued, "Since my appointment as Vice Minister in November 2020, working alongside Ministers Sung Yoon-mo and Moon Seung-wook and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy staff over the past year and a half has been an immensely rewarding and happy time," adding, "This was all thanks to the support of senior and junior colleagues and fellow staff at the ministry."
Vice Minister Park also said, "I cannot help but mention that the domestic and international environment surrounding us has been more difficult and challenging than ever," and stated, "Hardworking employees have faced difficulties, and there are still ongoing issues, which is regrettable." He added, "The realities before us were all severe and the tasks were not easy," and said, "At times, I ran around related ministries, the Blue House, and the National Assembly to fiercely discuss ensuring that policies, which were hard-earned, were properly implemented."
