[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Lee Jae-myung, Standing Advisor of the Democratic Party of Korea, congratulated President Yoon Suk-yeol on his inauguration and the launch of the new government.
On the 10th, Advisor Lee posted on Facebook, "I pray that the government will succeed through governance based on principles and common sense," and added, "I also believe that President Yoon will surely keep his promise to unite the hearts of the people."
He then said, "Please open an era of national unity and harmony beyond the age of division and conflict."
Advisor Lee ran as the Democratic Party candidate in the last presidential election and competed against President Yoon. Ahead of the upcoming local elections, he has expressed his intention to run in the by-election for Incheon Gyeyang-eul.
He stated, "Cooperation and balance are essential to creating a successful government," and urged, "Please create a government for the people through bipartisan cooperation."
