A Seasoned Bureaucrat with Extensive Administrative Experience in Related Fields
President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol appointed Jeon Byeong-geuk, former Director of Cultural Arts Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as the First Vice Minister of the Ministry on the 9th. He is a seasoned bureaucrat with extensive administrative experience in the fields of culture, sports, and tourism. Born in 1963 in Yecheon, Gyeongbuk, he graduated from Sungkyunkwan University with a degree in Public Administration and completed a master's program at Seoul National University's Graduate School of Public Administration. He passed the 1993 civil service exam and began his public service career as a manager in the Arts Promotion Division of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Over the years, he has held various positions including Head of Policy Promotion Team, Head of Content Technology Personnel Division, Head of Sports Policy Division, Sports Cooperation Officer, Spokesperson, Regional Culture Policy Officer, Director of Cultural Arts Policy, Head of Cultural Technology Personnel Team at the Cultural Industry Promotion Group, Academic Affairs Manager at Korea National University of Arts, Administrative Officer at the Presidential Office for National Policy Planning, and Secretary General of the National Academy of Arts. Until recently, he served as the Head of Innovation Management Division (Standing Director) at Grand Korea Leisure (GKL).
