Gyeonggi-do Actively Incorporates Ideas from Employees in Their 20s and 30s into Governance... Operating the 'Innovation Junior Board'
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is operating the 'Innovation Junior Board,' composed of employees in their 20s and 30s within the provincial government office.
On the 9th, Gyeonggi Province held the inauguration ceremony for the Innovation Junior Board at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office in Suwon and officially began its activities, the province announced on the same day.
The Innovation Junior Board consists of 15 MZ generation public officials in their 20s and 30s, at grade 6 or below, with about five years of experience, affiliated with the Gyeonggi Provincial Government. The board operates divided into three subgroups focusing on ▲power harassment and organizational culture ▲work methods ▲service culture (work-life balance).
In particular, until the end of this year, they will carry out various innovation activities such as regular online and offline discussions for organizational culture improvement, benchmarking government innovation sites, and conducting campaigns related to organizational culture.
The province plans to actively support the Innovation Junior Board members so that, based on autonomy and horizontal communication, they can discover fresh ideas for provincial government innovation through new perspectives.
Ryu In-kwon, Director of the Planning and Coordination Office of the province, stated, "With the continuous influx of MZ generation employees into public service, it is time for a shift toward a flexible organizational culture. We expect the activities of the Innovation Junior Board to be the first step toward an organizational culture where generations do not divide but understand each other's differences, and communication and collaboration work well."
