Gokseong-gun, Festival Relay Every Month from May to July

[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-sun] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that starting with the World Rose Festival in May, it will hold a festival relay every month until July.

First, the 12th Gokseong World Rose Festival will open from May 21 to June 6.

Following that, at the end of June, the National University Club U-League Soccer Tournament will take place, and in mid-July, the nation’s only 1st Ice Cream Festival will burst forth with a spectacular celebration.

This aims to refreshingly relieve people's thirst for festivals and travel, which had been suppressed due to COVID-19, with exciting sights and enjoyable activities.

The Gokseong World Rose Festival held at Seomjingang Train Village boasts the country’s top-class rose garden spanning 75,000㎡.

Millions of blooming roses overwhelm the eyes of visitors with their diverse and vibrant colors.

The fragrance filling the rose park is also exquisite.

The subtle and intoxicating scent activates the olfactory cortex and limbic system, which had become numb amid daily fatigue.

Visitors experience the so-called ‘Proust phenomenon,’ a moment when the scent evokes happy memories.

Inside and outside the rose park, various performances and events can be enjoyed.

Under the festival concept of ‘Golden Rose Season 2, Rose Ball,’ a Rose Gala Concert and Rose Ball will be presented.

Additionally, side events such as the Asia World Cup Festival, World Yodel Festival, Rose Waltz Party, and Hanbok Fashion Show will be held throughout the train village.

Especially at the Asia World Cup Festival, visitors can see parades of traditional costumes from various countries and traditional folk performances.

The National University Club U-League Soccer Tournament held at the end of June will feature 24 men’s teams and 6 women’s teams.

As TV entertainment programs featuring non-professional soccer matches have recently gained popularity, it is expected to be an enjoyable spectacle not only for participants but also for visitors.

In particular, Gokseong-gun expects that visits by soccer teams and cheering fans will also help revitalize the local economy.

From July 15 to 17, when the hot summer begins, the Ice Cream Festival will refresh both body and mind.

As the nation’s only ice cream-themed festival, visitors can taste an unpredictable variety of unique ice creams such as taro, melon, wasabi, and zenpi ice cream.

Moreover, from beer parties to bubble sliding, water slides, water gun fights, and EDM parties, the festival offers ways to cool off the midsummer heat.
