Foreigners and Institutions Selling Drive Domestic Stock Market Downtrend
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The domestic stock market showed a downward trend on the 9th due to selling pressure from foreigners and institutions.
The KOSPI index opened at 2,634.3, down 10.19 points (0.39%) from the previous day. As of 9:10 a.m., foreigners were net sellers of approximately 29.6 billion KRW, and institutions sold about 53.1 billion KRW. On the other hand, individuals were net buyers of 82.3 billion KRW, defending the index decline. At the same time, the KOSPI index recorded 2,640.45, down 4.06 points (0.15%) compared to the previous trading day.

The KOSDAQ index also opened down 3.88 points (0.44%) at 880.34 and at the same time showed a decline of 4.11 points (0.46%) to 880.11 compared to the previous trading day. Foreigners were net sellers of 22.5 billion KRW, institutions sold 3.2 billion KRW, and individuals were net buyers of 26.3 billion KRW.
