"Early Heatwave..." Lotte Home Shopping Sees 40% Increase in Seasonal Appliance Orders
Seasonal Home Appliance Sales Moved Up by One Week
Order Amount from April 9-30 Up 40% Year-on-Year
"Strategic Summer Product Planning Based on Proprietary Forecast Weather Data"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 9th that it has advanced the sales of seasonal home appliances such as air conditioners and fans by one week compared to previous years due to the early heatwave. The company plans to strategically organize summer products including fashion, food, and home appliances based on its own predicted weather data.
Since weather plays a crucial role in TV home shopping sales, Lotte Homeshopping has been utilizing its own big data analysis to forecast weather data for product planning and organization since 2020. After the cold snap in early April this year, temperatures rose without any further cold spells, and it is predicted that heat with maximum temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius will appear from the second week of May, about one week earlier than usual. Accordingly, the sales of seasonal home appliances were advanced by one week.
During the 'Samsung Air Conditioner' sales broadcast on the 9th of last month, all prepared quantities were sold out, and from the 9th to the 30th, orders for seasonal home appliances increased by 40% compared to the same period last year. Lotte Homeshopping plans to strategically organize and sell summer products such as food and home appliances in anticipation of the onset of the full heatwave.
On the 14th at 8:20 a.m., the living specialty program 'Choi Yura Show' will exclusively introduce the 'BLDC Fan Fan' from 'Shinil Electronics,' the number one domestic fan manufacturer. At 4:25 p.m., the 'Samsung Bespoke Wind-Free Air Conditioner Classic,' which reduces power consumption and uses eco-friendly refrigerants, will be sold.
Exclusive fashion brand summer new products and diet foods will also be introduced. On the 10th at 9:45 p.m., the exclusive fashion brand 'Laurel,' which has ranked first in Lotte Homeshopping hit products for three consecutive years, will sell items made from viscose material such as scalloped collar knits, chiffon blouses, and wide denim pants. On the 13th at 8:15 a.m., 'Young Style,' and on the 14th at 10:30 p.m., 'El Show,' representative fashion specialty programs, will present special exhibitions of summer products from brands such as 'LBL' and 'Georges Rech.' On the 10th and 11th at 7:15 a.m., diet brand 'SkinnyLab' will sell 'Lactoferrin Diet' and 'Cissus Diet,' respectively. On the mobile TV 'El Live,' popular summer products such as 'Bellygom×GRN Diet Health Functional Foods' and 'Magnum Ice Cream' will be showcased.

Kim Jae-gyeom, head of Lotte Homeshopping’s TV Business Division, said, "As the heat comes earlier this year and a heatwave is expected, advancing the sales of seasonal home appliances such as air conditioners by one week resulted in all prepared quantities being sold out, indicating high demand. Going forward, we plan to strategically organize summer products including fashion, home appliances, and food based on our own predicted weather data to meet customer needs."
