Legoland Opens on Children's Day... 12,000 Visitors on the First Day
Legoland Korea is welcoming customers who visited the park on its official opening day, May 5.

According to Chuncheon City on the 6th, the number of tourists who visited Legoland on the opening day, the 5th, is estimated to be 12,000. This is the maximum number of people allowed through advance reservations. Legoland will limit daily admissions to 12,000 through a 100% advance reservation system until the 7th.
On the first day of opening, Legoland held a commemorative event. The event was attended by John Jacobson, Resort General Manager of Merlin Entertainment, and Phil Royle, President of Legoland Korea. The event proceeded with a show and parade, followed by a welcome speech from President Phil Royle, and then the opening countdown.
President Phil Royle said, “Legoland Korea is a place for children and their families, and it is especially meaningful to open today on Children's Day. Legoland Korea will be the optimal theme park for anyone seeking a genuine Lego experience,” adding, “We hope everyone who visited on the first day of opening will have an unforgettable and enjoyable experience.”

This official opening took place 11 years after completion. Since Gangwon Province and the UK’s Merlin Entertainment Group signed a memorandum of investment for the creation of Legoland in 2011, the project faced difficulties such as artifact excavations and lack of funds from the developer. The opening date was postponed seven times.
