Jeju Fire Station Conducts Surprise Virtual Fire Drill in Preparation for Buddha's Birthday
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Fire Station (Chief Go Jae-woo) announced on the 6th that it conducted a 'virtual fire sudden dispatch drill' at the remote temples Gwaneumsa and Cheonwangsa on the 3rd in preparation for Buddha's Birthday.
This drill was organized to strengthen initial response capabilities in case of fire, considering the increased handling of fire sources such as candles inside the temples during Buddha's Birthday and the vulnerability of traditional temples made of wooden structures to fire.
Go Jae-woo, Chief of Jeju Fire Station, said, "Traditional temples are made of wood, which is vulnerable to fire, so a lot of caution is required," and added, "We will thoroughly prepare for fires and safety accidents through the drill."
