Director of 'Pachinko' New Film 'After Yang' to Release on June 1
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Watcha announced on the 4th that "After Yang," the new film by director Kogonada of "Pachinko," will be released on June 1st.
"After Yang" is a beautiful and original story about loss, love, and life that begins with exploring the memories of an android human named Yang.
Actor Colin Farrell plays the father Jake, and Jodie Turner-Smith takes on the role of the mother Kira. Justin H. Min plays the android human Yang, and Malea Emma Chandrawijaya plays the young daughter Mika.
Directed by Korean-American Kogonada, who co-directed the Apple TV+ original series "Pachinko," this is his second feature film following "Columbus," and a work produced by A24, known for "Minari." It is adapted from Alexander Weinstein's original work "Saying Goodbye to Yang."

"After Yang" was invited to the Un Certain Regard section at the 74th Cannes Film Festival last year and was screened at the 38th Sundance Film Festival and the 23rd Jeonju International Film Festival.
