Mujugun Completes Light Design Installation Around Hanpungnu Area
Providing Tourists with Unique Attractions Using Light
[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Muju-gun announced on the 3rd that it has completed the Light Design Project in the area around Hanpungnu, which is designated as a national treasure.
The Hanpungnu area in Muju-gun is a space where major events such as the Firefly Festival and the Mountain Village Film Festival, hosted by Muju-gun, take place. Muju-gun invested 170 million KRW to start the Light Design Project around Hanpungnu in December last year.
The design project illuminated the Hanpungnu pavilion while ensuring that excessive lighting did not damage the dignity of the cultural asset. It created a beautiful and elegant nighttime cultural heritage landscape, allowing visitors to appreciate Muju's historical assets.
In particular, indirect lighting was used on cherry trees and pine trees planted around Hanpungnu to highlight the shape of the trees and brighten the dark spaces warmly. This provided a comfortable and safe walkway and park not only during the day but also at night.
As a result, it is expected that more people will visit Hanpungnu.
This area will also be utilized as a nighttime program space in the future. During festivals, specialized content such as event sculptures and landscape lighting will be added to allow tourists visiting here to enjoy nighttime tourism.
In the future, it is expected to provide attractions to tourists with a nighttime landscape harmonized with the waterfront axis and green axis around Namdaecheon Stream in Muju, linked with the Namdaecheon Stream landscape project (2025).
Meanwhile, 'Muju Hanpungnu,' built in front of the government office during the Joseon Dynasty, was a place where many scholars enjoyed literature and painting. It was designated as a national cultural property (treasure) in June last year.
