Democratic Party: "Yoon's National Tasks Difficult to View Without Disappointment and Concern"
"New Government's National Agenda is 'ABM (Anything But Moon)'...
Intention to Deny All Policies and Achievements Pursued by Moon Administration"
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The Democratic Party of Korea evaluated the 110 national tasks announced by President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol's transition committee on the 3rd as "difficult to remove feelings of disappointment and concern."
On the same day, spokesperson Jo Oh-seop held a briefing at the National Assembly communication center and said, "The national tasks finally presented by Yoon Suk-yeol's transition committee, which only produced controversies over the past 50 days, are disappointing and worrisome."
Spokesperson Jo pointed out, "The government overturned the pledges directly promised by the president-elect himself, such as the uniform payment of 10 million won to small business owners, the pledge to pay soldiers 2 million won immediately upon inauguration, and the abolition of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, even before the government was launched. The transition committee says it will reasonably design these pledges to be implemented gradually, but it can only be seen as a stalling tactic to hide the breaking of promises."
First, regarding compensation for small business losses, he criticized, "The transition committee emphasized 'complete compensation,' but given that policies that significantly retreat from the pledges have already been announced, the committee's claims are nothing but a stubborn defense."
Regarding the abolition of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, he said, "They say they will review it while running the government, but we will watch to see if they are aiming to abolish it to avoid the local elections."
He added, "The new government's national tasks are 'ABM (Anything But Moon)'," criticizing, "It can only be seen as an intention to deny all the policies and achievements pursued by the Moon Jae-in administration."
Regarding foreign and security policies, he said, "It has completely reverted to the MB government. As we feared, it can only be seen as trying to turn back the time of inter-Korean relations," and criticized, "By bringing up reciprocity again and demanding complete, verifiable denuclearization (CVID), we cannot expect inter-Korean relations for the next five years."
He also mentioned the criminal justice field, saying, "As expected from a president who was a former prosecutor general, the national tasks are filled with regressive policies returning to a privileged prosecution system. They clearly expressed the will to nullify all the achievements of prosecutorial reform, such as abolishing the Ministry of Justice Minister's investigative control rights, granting independent budget authority to the prosecution, and abolishing Article 24 of the Corruption Investigation Office Act," evaluating it as "a de facto declaration of a prosecution republic." He emphasized, "The Democratic Party will strongly block the Yoon Suk-yeol government's attempt to nullify prosecutorial reform through the National Assembly." Regarding the plan to establish a presidential National Cybersecurity Committee and train 100,000 cyber warfare personnel, he said, "It is suspicious whether this is an attempt to nurture forces to protect the regime under the guise of national security."
