The conference was held by inviting about 100 people from five power generation companies: Korea South-East Power, Korea Midland Power, Korea Western Power, Korea Southern Power, and Korea East-West Power.
Through the conference, KEPCO KDN introduced solutions in five areas: power generation IoT, E-platform, safety, information security, and Cloud.
As a solution in the power generation IoT field, KEPCO KDN introduced the 'Smart Power Plant Mobile Network Construction' for building a high-speed private wireless network within power plants, and in the E-platform field, solutions for 'Integrated Control of Renewable Energy' such as solar power, offshore wind power, and hydrogen energy.
In the fields of information security and Cloud, various 4th industrial revolution new technologies and solutions were introduced, including the 'unidirectional transmission device' to block hackers' intrusion into power control networks, the 'encryption module' that enables this, 'artificial intelligence security monitoring,' and the 'Smart Power Generation ICT Cloud Plan.'
In particular, safety solutions such as AI video surveillance and digital twins attracted much attention from attendees as highly practical solutions that monitor the safety status of equipment and workers in power plants during normal times and allow rescue teams to check building structures and worker locations on mobile devices in case of disasters such as fires.
