Kim Jeong-ho, chairman of the provincial party, Huh Seong-gon, candidate for Gimhae mayor, Han Kyung-ho, candidate for Jinju mayor, Hwang In-seong, candidate for Sacheon mayor, and Kang Seok-ju, candidate for Tongyeong mayor, attended and expressed their support.
Former Vice Chairman Yang stated, “To make Gyeongnam a better place to live, I will run boldly on the path opened by Kim Du-kwan and paved by Kim Kyung-soo.”
He criticized, “The economy is revived by companies, with workers and management joining forces. Politicians claiming to revive the economy are still trapped in the economic control and government-led economy illusions of the Park Chung-hee and Roh Tae-woo eras.”
He said, “The governor is the person who removes obstacles faced by companies and provides workspace, necessary funds, and technology to make products,” adding, “I will be a helper, spokesperson, and salesperson for companies.”
His pledges include ▲ establishing and expanding 24-hour pediatric emergency rooms ▲ increasing jobs for the elderly ▲ preparing specialized support measures for job seekers in their 40s and 50s ▲ contributing to balanced development between the nation and the Gyeongnam region.
He also promised to develop the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam (Bu-Ul-Gyeong) megacity and Changwon Special City to make Gyeongnam a subject that shares economic, administrative, cultural, and environmental territories.
“I will make Changwon develop further as a special city, so that its population ranks not only fourth nationwide after Gyeonggi, Seoul, and Busan but also its quality of life ranks among the top four nationwide. I, Yang Mun-seok, will do this boldly,” he said.
On the day, former Vice Chairman Yang proposed a discussion on candidate unification for building a joint government to Yeo Young-guk, the Justice Party’s Gyeongnam governor candidate.
“Multi-party system is not the highest value; improving the quality of life of the residents is the highest value,” he said, proposing, “Let us break the old era spirit of the People Power Party and arm ourselves with a proper spirit of the times to find ways to devote ourselves to improving residents’ quality of life together.”
