Creation of 'NFT Shop' and 'NFT Wallet' in Lotte Homeshopping Mobile App
Release of Popular Character 'Belligom' and Virtual Model 'Lucy' NFTs
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 2nd that it has opened the first-ever NFT marketplace in the distribution industry called 'NFT Shop,' accelerating its NFT business.
Lotte Homeshopping stated, "As the consumption culture of virtual digital content spreads, we have opened the first NFT marketplace in the distribution industry after a planning and technology advancement period since last year." While various companies are planning and holding NFT giveaway events due to growing interest in NFTs, Lotte Homeshopping is the first distribution company to create an NFT marketplace. The 'NFT Shop' is established within its own mobile shopping application, and the transaction currency is supported in Korean won. NFTs purchased through the market are stored in the 'MY NFT Wallet' within the Lotte Homeshopping mobile app, and in the future, secondary sales of NFTs will be possible on 'OpenSea,' the world's largest NFT marketplace.
On this day, the popular character 'Belligom' NFT was introduced. Various NFTs by famous artists and fine art will be continuously released. The Belligom NFT, created in collaboration with sculptor No Jun, known for his series of animal character works, features the first storytelling 60-second 3D video and will be sold in a limited quantity of 300. On the 4th, a new series NFT by the artist 'Moreking,' who visualizes abstract concepts through characters, will be introduced. Starting from the 9th, the second minting of Lotte Homeshopping's virtual model 'Lucy' in 'Lucy×Mozza,' 'Lucy365 Days,' and the NFT for the upcoming movie 'The Witch: Part 2' will be sequentially unveiled.
To commemorate the opening, until May 4th, customers who create an 'NFT Wallet' on the Lotte Homeshopping mobile app will receive a 'Luciland NFT' of the virtual model 'Lucy,' created by illustrator 'Mozza,' famous for the art poster work of the movie 'Deliver Us from Evil,' free of charge for the first 10,000 people. Holding this NFT grants the holder the status of Lucy's supporter, providing benefits such as incentives each time a roadmap milestone is achieved, including 'brand advertising model' and 'short-form platform launch,' which are part of Lucy's activity plans.
Meanwhile, Lotte Homeshopping has been accelerating digital transformation by actively promoting metaverse services since last year. It has prepared a mid- to long-term strategy for building a metaverse platform and introduced the 'NFT Shop' as part of this effort. The company plans to diversify NFT content areas in the future. Within this year, it will also launch a 'Meta Live Studio' that realizes live commerce in a three-dimensional virtual world, allowing product and brand experiences and gaming through avatars.
