View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gyeongsang National University has been selected for the "Phase 3 Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Leading University Development Project" organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
This project is a comprehensive university support initiative aimed at continuously enhancing the achievements of the Phase 1 and 2 LINK projects and creating an industry-academia-research cooperation ecosystem where universities and industries can coexist and develop together.
The Ministry of Education is investing a budget of 302.5 billion KRW this year in the Phase 3 Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Leading University Development Project for 76 universities, including Gyeongsang National University.
This project will provide support for up to six years (3+3) from this year until 2027, selecting a total of 76 universities: 13 technology innovation type, 53 demand-customized type, and 10 cooperation foundation building type.
The technology innovation type receives an average of 5.5 billion KRW per year, the demand-customized type 4 billion KRW, and the cooperation foundation building type 2 billion KRW.
Gyeongsang National University was finally selected as a technology innovation type university. This category is for universities that lead industry-academia-research cooperation technology innovation and create future value to contribute to enhancing national competitiveness. Three universities in the metropolitan area and ten in provincial areas were selected.
Gyeongsang National University, a national flagship university in Gyeongsangnam-do, has carried out the "Leading University Development Project for Industry-Academia Cooperation (LINC, LINC+)" for the past ten years.
Starting anew in 2021 with the integration of National Gyeongsang University and Gyeongnam National University of Science and Technology, it has established a shared and collaborative foundation through five campuses in Jinju, Changwon, and Tongyeong, student quotas, graduate school admissions, and a human resource environment ranked third among national flagship universities in recruitment rate, as well as serving as the lead university for the regional innovation platform and e-learning support center.
