[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Lee Ha-young, a preliminary candidate for Jeju Provincial Assembly from the People Power Party, is under investigation by the Election Commission over allegations that she distributed a poster for the opening ceremony of her election office online in advance.
The Jeju Election Commission announced on the 29th that it is currently verifying the facts after receiving a complaint that the candidate violated the Public Official Election Act.
Before registering her candidacy with the Election Commission, on the 6th, the candidate posted a poster for the election office opening ceremony on her personal social network service (SNS).
The poster included information such as the time and location of the opening ceremony.
In a phone interview with this outlet, the candidate stated, "I did not put my name on the poster and did not think it would cause any issues. I will check the related matters with the Election Commission."
