View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Kim Seung-yeon, Chairman of Hanwha Group, met with Edwin Feulner, Chairman of the Asia Studies Center at the Heritage Foundation in the United States, to discuss global affairs.
According to industry sources on the 28th, Chairman Kim had dinner with Chairman Feulner for over two hours on the evening of the 27th. This meeting took place during Feulner's visit to Korea to participate in a domestic conference exploring challenges and prospects related to the increasing complexity of global geopolitical risks.
Chairman Kim and Chairman Feulner shared their views on the global economic situation, including rising commodity prices triggered by the Ukraine-Russia war, and overall international affairs such as energy security. They also engaged in in-depth discussions on ways to enhance the Korea-US friendly relations.
Feulner participated in the founding of the Heritage Foundation in 1973 and served as its chairman until 2013. He established the Heritage Foundation's Asia Studies Center and currently serves as its chairman. He is recognized as a leading Asia expert in the United States and is known as a pro-Korea figure.
It is reported that Chairman Kim and Feulner have maintained a friendship for about 40 years since the early 1980s.
